Suuratul al-Imraan Verse 200

***

***

200. O you who believe! Endure and be more patient, and Rabitu, and have Taqwa of Allah, so that you may be successful.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir Volume 2, Page 360

Allah said,

﴿يَـأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ اصْبِرُواْ وَصَابِرُواْ وَرَابِطُواْ﴾

“O you who believe! Endure and be more patient, and Rabitu”

Al-Hasan Al-Basri said, “The believers are commanded to be patient in the religion that Allah chose for them, Islam. They are not allowed to abandon it in times of comfort or hardship, ease or calamity, until they die as Muslims. They are also commanded to endure against their enemies, those who hid the truth about their religion.”

As for Murabatah, it is to endure in acts of worship and perseverence. It also means to await prayer after prayer, as Ibn `Abbas stated. Ibn Abi Hatim collected a Hadith that was also collected by Muslim and An-Nasa’i from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet said,

“Should I tell you about actions with which Allah forgives sins and raises the grade Performing perfect ablution in unfavorable conditions, the many steps one takes to the Masajid, and awaiting prayer after the prayer, for this is the Ribat, this is the Ribat, this is the Ribat.

Allah said next,

﴿وَاتَّقُواْ اللَّهَ﴾

“and have Taqwa of Allah”

Concerning all your affairs and situations. For instance, the Prophet said to Mu`adh when he sent him to Yemen,

«اتَّقِ اللهَ حَيْثُمَا كُنْتَ، وَأَتْبِعِ السَّيِّـئَــةَ الْحَسَنَةَ تَمْحُهَا، وَخَالِقِ النَّاسَ بِخُلُقٍ حَسَن»

“Have Taqwa of Allah wherever you may be, follow the evil deed with a good deed and it will erase it, and deal with people in a good manner.”

Allah said next,

﴿لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ﴾

“so that you may be successful.”

In this life and the Hereafter.

Profound Parables II

Jumada ath-Thaani, 1432

~~~
Indeed, all praise and thanks are due to Allaah. We praise Him; seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek protection from Him from the evils of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomever Allaah guides, no one can misguide him, and whomever He sends astray, there is no other guide for him. I testify that nothing has any right to be worshipped except Allaah alone, having no partner, and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger-may the peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him, his family, companions and those who follow them in goodness until the Day of Judgment. To proceed:
Assalaam alaykum wa rahmatullaah wa barakatuuh.
This post is titled Profound Parables II but this is not a part two of the previous month’s theme but rather a second attempt at doing justice to the theme. Last two months have been different, filled with activity but gratifying, Alhamdulillaah. Joined an online course and its been hectic re-planning my life around the life sessions and recordings. But I’ve missed my readings of Noble Quran and pouring over Tafsir Ibn Kathir, seeking an insight to the meaning of the words of the Quran. Another reason why I’ve been eager to resume my posts is the saying of the Rasul, may Peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him:
Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said: “The best loved deeds to Allah are the ones that are continuous even if they are not very many.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
So inshaAllaah, I’m back, better (I hope) and hopefully I’ll be conveying some pearls from the courses in my future posts! I pray Allaah grants us beneficial knowledge, forgives our sins, makes us steadfast upon good and makes us of those who turn often to Him in repentance, Aamin.
No Fear nor Grief!
24th of Rabi’ Al-Awwal
Suuratul Fussilat Verse 30
نَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّـهُ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَقَـٰمُوا۟ تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُوا۟ وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا۟ وَأَبْشِرُوا۟ بِٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ ﴿٣٠
30. Verily, those who say: “Our Lord is Allah (Alone),” and then they Istaqamu , on them the angels will descend (at the time of their death) (saying): “Fear not, nor grieve! But receive the glad tidings of Paradise which you have been promised!
***
Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Volume 8, Page 537
Allaah says,
﴿إِنَّ الَّذِينَ قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَقَـمُواْ﴾
“Verily, those who say: “Our Lord is Allah,” and then they stand firm”,
Means, they do good deeds sincerely for the sake of Allah, and they obey Allah, doing what Allah has prescribed for them. Ibn Jarir reported a narration of Al-Aswad bin Hilal, who said, “Abu Bakr As-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him, said, `What do you say about this Ayah? They said: They shun sin.’ He said, `You have not interpreted it properly.’ They say: `Our Lord is Allah, then they stand firm and do not turn to any other god besides Him. ”’ This was also the view of Mujahid, `Ikrimah, As-Suddi and others. Ahmad recorded that Sufyan bin `Abdullah Ath-Thaqafi said, “I said, `O Messenger of Allah, tell me something that I can adhere to.’ He said:
«قُلْ: رَبِّيَ اللهُ، ثُمَّ اسْتَقِم»
“Say, my Lord is Allah, then stand firm.”
I said, `O Messenger of Allah, what do you fear most for me’ The Messenger of Allah took hold of the edge of his tongue and said “This” This was also recorded by At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah; At-Tirmidhi said, “Hasan Sahih.”
﴿تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَلَـئِكَةُ﴾
“on them the angels will descend”.
Mujahid, As-Suddi, Zayd bin Aslam and Zayd’s son said, “This means, at the time of death, and they will say,
﴿أَلاَّ تَخَافُواْ﴾
“Fear not ”
Mujahid, `Ikrimah and Zayd bin Aslam said, “This means not to fear that which you will face in the Hereafter.”
﴿وَلاَ تَحْزَنُواْ﴾
“nor grieve!”
For what you have left behind of worldly things, children, family, wealth and debt, for we will take care of it for you.’
﴿وَأَبْشِرُواْ بِالْجَنَّةِ الَّتِى كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ﴾
“But receive the glad tidings of Paradise which you have been promised!”
So they give glad tidings of the end of bad things and the arrival of good things. This is like what is said in the Hadith narrated by Al-Bara’, may Allah be pleased with him:
«إِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَقُولُ لِرُوحِ الْمُؤْمِنِ: اخْرُجِي أَيَّتُهَا الرُّوحُ الطَّيِّـبَةُ فِي الْجَسَدِ الطَّيِّبِ كُنْتِ تَعْمُرِينَهُ، اخْرُجِي إِلى رَوْحٍ وَرَيْحَانٍ وَرَبَ غَيْرِ غَضْبَان»
“The angels say to the soul of the believer, “Come out, O good soul from the good body in which you used to dwell, come out to rest, and provision and a Lord Who is not angry.”
It was said that the angels will come down to them on the Day when they are brought out of their graves. Zayd bin Aslam said, “They will give him glad tidings when he dies, in his grave, and when he is resurrected.” This was recorded by Ibn Abi Hatim, and this view reconciles all the opinions; it is a good view and it is true.
Grant us ease, mercy and steadfastness.
Suuratul Baqarah Verse 286
 رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَآ إِن نَّسِينَآ أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَآ إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا ۚ
 رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِۦ ۖ وَٱعْفُ عَنَّا وَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَآ ۚأَنتَ مَوْلَىٰنَا فَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ ﴿٢٨٦
286. ……….”Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before us; our Lord! Put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Pardon us and grant us Forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Maula and give us victory over the disbelieving people.”
Suuratul Al-Imran Verse 8
رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚإِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ ﴿٨
8. (They say): “Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower.”
