About

Hmm! I’m a muslimah trying to love my Creator, trying to learn my deen, trying to persevere upon trials, trying to be the best Muslimah I can be, trying, trying.

I’m a wife to a darling Zawjy, a student of the Noble Quran and Arabiyyah, and a researcher in Computational Sustainability.

I love “tripping” – going places and seeing new things and teaching – family, neighbors and friends.

This blog was born out of a desire to stay committed to reading a Juz of the quran daily in Ramadan 1432; and not just reading but also reflecting upon its meanings. I have decided to continue with my recitation and reflection after Ramadan and blog about inspirational verses here.

I intend to pick a theme monthly for my reflection and then post an aayah (verse) in each Juz that relates to the theme. I’ll be starting post-Ramadan i.e. September 2011 inshaAllaah.

Most of the time, I’ll just post up the aayah (the arabic version from Tanzil.net) and I’ll also include the translation from The Noble Quran by Dar -Us-Salam. Occasionally, I might include my own comments on why the Aaayah struck me as inspiring and maybe a tafsir of the verse (from Tafsir Ibn Kathir) too, inshaAllaah.

I’ll love to get feedback from readers on similar verses in the monthly theme that you have found truly inspiring. Suggestions are also welcome on possible monthly themes.

If Allaah spares my life till the next Ramadan, I hope that I can look back on my blog posts and evaluate how, blogging about an aayah in each Juz that particularly struck me, helped me stay committed to

Building my Imaan, an-ayah-at-a-time!

    Dear Sis,
Its great to find such a beautiful work done for the love of Allah, so note this!: ” On those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, will (Allah) Most Gracious bestow Love.” (Surah Mar yam vs 96) Please, keep on the the good work for indeed : ” …. work on! Allah beholdeth your work and so do His Rasool and the believers….”(surah Tawbah vs 105)
