The Dua of the Angels of the Throne

Suuratul Ghaafir Verses 7 – 9.

7. Those (angels) who bear the Throne (of Allah) and those around it glorify the praises of their Lord, and believe in Him, and ask forgiveness for those who believe (saying): “Our Lord! You comprehend all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who repent and follow Your Way, and save them from the torment of the blazing Fire!

8. “Our Lord! And make them enter the ‘Adn (Eden) Paradise (everlasting Gardens) which you have promised them, and to the righteous among their fathers, their wives, and their offspring! Verily, You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

9. “And save them from the sins, and whomsoever You save from the sins (i.e. excuse them) that Day, him verily, You have taken into mercy.” And that is the supreme success.

Grant Us Honour.

Suuratul Al-Imraan Verse 194.

194. “Our Lord! Grant us what You promised unto us through Your Messengers and disgrace us not on the Day of Resurrection, for You never break (Your) Promise.”

Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Volume 2 Page 347.

It was the Prophet’s tradition to recite the ten Ayat at the end of Surah﴾ Al `Imran when he woke up at night for (voluntary) prayer. Al-Bukhari recorded that Ibn `Abbas said, “I slept one night at the house of my aunt, Maymunah. The Messenger of Allah spoke with his wife for a while and then went to sleep. When it was the third part of the night, he stood up, looked at the sky and recited,

Verily, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding (3:190)

The Prophet then stood up, performed ablution, used Siwak (to clean his teeth) and prayed eleven units of prayer. When Bilal said the Adhan, the Prophet prayed two units of prayer, went out (to the Masjid) and led the people in the Dawn prayer.” This was also collected by Muslim.
